Ron Burg, PhD

From my boyhood on a Midwestern ranch, to working in biotech, to studying the Great Books, to earning my PhD in Psychology, my own journey has taken many twists and turns. After feeling lost for much of my 20s, I ultimately found my way with the help of several male mentors who helped me reconnect with crucial parts of myself I'd lost touch with. My life’s work has been to study the special developmental challenges men face and to help others make their own journeys.

  • I worked for seven years at Stanford University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, and have been licensed and in private practice since 2001.

How I Work

I balance science with a deep intuition in our work together. I have an active working style that moves things forward.

Rather than limiting myself to one therapeutic method, I've spent many years studying multiple therapy approaches covering all dimensions of the mind-brain-peripheral nervous system:
