Ron Burg, Ph.D.
I have been practicing psychology in the Bay Area since 1998 after finishing my Ph.D. at the University of Michigan. I’ve held positions at Stanford’s Counseling and Psychological Services and the San Jose Marital and Sexuality Centre. I have been in private practice since 2001.
From a boyhood spent on a Midwestern ranch, to a stint in biotech, to a few years spent with the Great Books, to a PhD in Psychology, my own odyssey has taken many twists and turns. I felt lost for much of my 20s but ultimately found my way under the guidance of several male mentors. I discovered that I, like most men in our culture, had lost contact with crucial parts of myself. Once I started to look within and see what was really there, things began to shift in big ways.
My life’s work is to study the special challenges men face and to help them make their own journeys.
